This is a good place to go if you are traveling and want to find some running areas at your location. If you are a serious runner, the premium service offers analysis of your training based on the GPS uploads

SportsTracks GPS log
This has to be one of the greatest freeware tracking programs around and it keeps getting better. The big value to this is that it is local to your system, not a web app. Many of the trail map shots come from this package.

GPSBabel
This software will help to convert various GPS type files into other GPS type files for import/export with other GPS software.
